C'Mon Cosmo!

Okay, so this started out as my version of Cosmo's 30 Hottest Guys in the NHL. I disagreed with so many of their choices that I had resigned to show the world the true hottest player of each team. This started out one night when I first got my blog up and running, not going to lie, it was kind of the deciding factor on whether or not to start a blog. Two weeks later and I still haven't got around to completing the post so its format has now been changed to basically a hot hockey players photo spamming. It is still my opinion as to who the hottest player on each team is just without the comparison and short story I had planned on writing for each entry.  I have tried to source my pictures as much as possible but sometimes google image search just did not allow that to happen. Some of my choices would have been players that are just joining the team but I made a general rule to myself that the player had to have completed a season (preferably with the NHL team but I accepted players if they spent the previous year with the team's AHL affiliate) as well as they must be an active player this season.  Also, a heads up for your ovaries, some of these pictures are of the players in suits! Happy babe viewing!

Cam Fowler - Anaheim Ducks

Gregory Campbell - Boston Bruins

Patrick Kaleta - Buffalo Sabres

Mikael Backlund - Calgary Flames

Jeff Skinner - Carolina Hurricanes
Baby Skinner!! Basically robbing the cradle with this choice! I wanted to get a picture with his long hair, which I actually think looks good on him unlike many other girls/women, but I couldn't find one! Sad face.

Jonathan Toews - Chicago Blackhawks

Gabriel Landeskog - Colorado Avalanche
Original Choice was Ryan O'Reilly but he has yet to sign.

Derrick Brassard - Columbus Blue Jackets

 Loui Erikkson - Dallas Stars
Original Choice was Jamie Benn although he has since resigned with the Stars.

Corey Emmerton - Detroit Red Wings
It's not many that can take a good head shot photo.

(battle wounds, hot!)
Ryan Jones - Edmonton Oilers
Such a funny guy!

Those brown eyes kill me!
Erik Gudbranson - Florida Panthers
(although injured, he falls under both my rules!)

Mike Richards - Los Angeles Kings
Again with the beauty of a head shot!

Devin Setoguchi - Minnesota Wild
Hockey player + musician = ovary obliteration!

Cowboy Carey Price - Montreal Canadiens

Craig Smith - Nashville Predators
Swwwooonnnnn

Adam Henrique - New Jersey Devils

That booty!!
John Tavares - New York Islanders
I saw a video of him and Taylor Hall on their respective benches at the All-Canadian Mentorship Tournament and I couldn't believe what a babe Tavares was!

Dan Girardi - New York Rangers
HBO 24/7 fed into my obsession that is Dan Girardi. Him with his son was too stinking adorable.

Zach Smith - Ottawa Senators
Cosmo's choice was Marc Methot, which I don't disagree with, but it broke my rule. When Zach takes a break from looking like hes about to cry and actually smiles, its like MAGIC!

Maxime Talbot - Philadelphia Flyers
I just think he is great. He is so funny on any interview or video I have seen of him and he's quite stylish as well!

Keith Yandle - Phoenix Coyotes
This little shorty is quite a cutie!

Sidney Crosby - Pittsburgh Penguins
Crosby in a Team Canada jersey. Millions of woman and girls alike weep in joy!
The Penguins have a lot to work with but I always pick Crosby, always.

Adam Burish - San Jose Sharks
Loved him with the Blackhawks, loved him with the Stars, love him with the Sharks!

Patrik Berglund - St. Louis Blues
Surprise surprise, another Swede! This isn't the best photo for you to fully understand this man's hotness but he's in a suit sooo....

Steven Stamkos - Tampa Bay Lightning
Is there any other athlete tougher than a hockey player? Chicks dig scars. We dig fresh, open wounds even more apparently. When Stamkos did this I all but kissed the TV screen, what a man!

Joffrey Lupul - Toronto Maple Leafs
How can you choose any other player on a team that has this guy on the roster! I saw him out before and, although a lot shorter than I imagined, I literally stopped in my tracks with my jaw on the floow. He is stunning! This picture is a pretty young Joffrey but I couldn't pass up showing those eyes!

Kevin Bieksa - Vancouver Canucks
Such a funny guy. That prank he did on the interviewer pretending to be teammate Ryan Kesler was classic! I love the work he is doing for mental health honouring his late friend and former teammate Rick Rypien. Class act!

Brooks Laich - Washington Capitols
I am in love with this guys smile! I love the wrinkles around the eyes and the lines around his mouth! So handsome!

Evander Kane - Winnipeg Jets
Again with the young guy but Kane is so good looking! He also seems like such a fun guy to have in the dressing room. Between his hair styles and funky suits I wouldn't mind having him close by for a laugh and a look!

That's my take on the NHL's 30 Hottest Guys. Here is the link to the original version: Cosmo's 30 Hottest NHL Players.

Agree? Disagree? Let me know! Whatever your choice I hope these pictures have brought a little joy to your day! K xo.

The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey - Movie Review

The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey
Directed by Peter Jackson
Starring: Ian McKellan, Martin Freeman

I'm going to start this post being perfectly honest with you. I had never watched the Lord of the Rings Trilogy, nor had I read the books. When I was younger my friend always wanted to go and see the movies in theatres as they came out and I relunctantly went with her all three times and literally hid underneath my coat for the majority of the movie. I tried to read the books but I was too young and just could not understand them. My roommate recently came home with a trilogy box set of the Lord of the Rings movies that he had borrowed from a friend. I actually WAS interested in seeing The Hobbit so I commited myself to taking on all for. I guess age and maturity have changed my interests. Now, on to the review.

The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey is the story of Bilbo Baggins recounting his "adventure" in a journal to share with his nephew Frodo when the time comes. It all starts when he decides to embark on a mission of bravery after being coerced by Gandalf and a dozen or so dwarves. The purpose of this adventure is to reclaim the land of the dwarves after being forced to leave the mountainous area while it played host to a dragon. They have to overcome various obstacles ranging from differences in opinions to ferocious and hideous Orcs.

I found the graphics and effects, including the costumes of the goblins and orcs, reminded me of an adult version of the power ranges. Gollum was extremely well done but other than that I was not only unimpressed, but found it to be a bit comical as well. The "not-so-dark" scenes were great. The dwarves showing up to the uneventful Shire and turning Bilbo's world upside down was quite entertaining, if only the entire movie had been as good as that scene.

Another negative about The Hobbit, it was way way wayyyyy too long! It's not Harry Potter people!
Agree? Disagree? Let me know! K xo

P.S - This is the second movie review I have done that is a film adaptation of a novel so I won't be posting another film review until I finish reading the books. I am quite biased to books, versus the film version so I am excited to see how I enjoy the written word version. (The Hobbit and Silver Linings Playbook).

Silver Linings Playbook - My First Movie Review!

Silver Linings Playbook

Starring: Jennifer Lawrence, Bradley Cooper, Robert Di Niro

Silver Linings Playbook is about a man, Pat (Bradley Cooper), who is discharged from a mental institute after serving his court mandated 8 months minimum and has been diagnosed with bipolar disorder. He moves in with his mom and dad with the goal of getting his life back together and reuniting with his estranged wife after an altercation between them results in him landing in the aforementioned mental institute. He reconnects with an old friend Ronnie (John Ortiz). Ronnie's sister-in-law is Tiffany (Jennifer Lawrence), who is working out her own issues after losing her husband in a tragic car accident. Pat makes a deal with Tiffany to help her in a dance competition if she helps him get in touch with his ex-wife. There are a lot of ups and downs and intertwining stories, a lot of details. It is so well written and the actors are so convincing in their respective roles.

The one problem I have with this film is that is considered a comedy. When I first learnt what the movie was about plus that it was being considered a comedy I was left with a bad taste in my mouth. Mental illness is as serious as a physical illness. 50/50, while there were some one-liners that made me chuckle, would never have been considered a comedy. I didn't even find that Silver Linings Playbook had those slightly comical moments. It was a drama. It was a drama about a serious issue that, although it has come a long way as far as removing the stigma, is still not taken very serious in North America.

On a lighter note, congratulations to Jennifer Lawrence on her Golden Globe for Best Actress! It will be exciting to see how she, Bradley and the movie do at the Oscars. I personally think that they have as good as given all the awards to Les Miserables already but I won't even get started on my feelings on that movie (not a huge Anne Hathaway fan).

That's my take on the movie, what's yours? K xo

Maiden Voyage

Okay, so I'm going to let you in on a little secret. I have been wanting to start a blog from some time now. (And in unison, *ooooohhhhh, aahhhhhhh*)

I don't have any visions of it being this go-to blog that people have for advice on fashion and love, it's not going to be that. Mostly it is going to be pictures and descriptions of places I have traveled, things I have seen, books I have read, music I am phasing on, reviews on movies, etc. As mentioned in my bio, this blog will more than likely feature a majority of its content on hockey and hockey players, including my next post which is a long and tedious look into the locker room hotties of each team. Trust me, it'll be worth the read!

I had previously tried to start a blog with updates on the status of my "Bucket List - 100 Things I Want to do Before I Die", but because it is goals that I plan to complete over my lifetime, posts were infrequent and the attraction died out. However, I am hoping to incorporate that into this one. Add that to the long list of items I can ramble on about.

Anyways, I am doing this blog for me and for me only, as a creative outlet for a mind that wanders back in time, to the future, and to other realms of this world I can only dream exist! If you happen to stumble upon it and read something you enjoy I'm glad. I also enjoy a good debate so if you see a review you disagree with let me hear it!

Happy Blogging! xo K.
